1. City nature
Shenyang is the political, economic and cultural centre of the whole
province and the largest economic central city in the north-eastern China. It should
promote its position as a transportation junction, and the centre of commercial trade,
economic information, culture, sciences and technologies.
Shenyang is an important industrial base for the whole country.
It should develop new, high-tech technologies, restructure its traditional industries and continue playing an important role as a national secondary base.
As a nationally famous historic and cultural city, it should keep up its excellent traditions and create a better physical architecture and environment.
Shenyang is an important window for north-eastern China in the country's international connections.
It should be built up into an important economic, trade, financial, information and tourism city for Bohai Rim coastal region and the North-East Asian economic cooperation region.
