Several agencies of the government undertake monitoring activities as part of their regular line function.
However, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, as the "primary agency responsible for the conservation, management, development and proper use of the country's natural resources" according to Executive Order 192, is the main environmental and natural resources enforcement agency.
Several multisectoral organizations are also being mobilized to complement the efforts by the government to ensure sustainable management of natural resources and proper protection of the environment.
