Objectives:

• Share experiences and reflect on the last performance cycle • Learn practical strategies for effective and continuous performance management • Learn how to write SMART goals for personal development plans and Unit work plans • Learn how to gain commitment on goals, actions, competencies or development needs from individual staff and from your team(s) • Learn how to manage performance discussions more effectively, and conduct collaborative meetings at key stages of the performance cycle • Examine and discuss the importance of following effective 'manage up' practices in order to effectively 'manage down' • Develop relevant skills by utilizing available resources and tools
