Module 3: Managing Upwards: Power Dynamics Revised

    Target Audience: GS staff who have completed parts I and II of the programme
    It is recommended that GSD III and GSD IV be taken together as they are always offered on two consecutive days, and the topics of power and influence are strongly related.

    Objectives:
    At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to:









    Understand their role in the dynamics of power and competition
    Understand how power and competition play role in communicating with supervisors, colleagues and clients
    Deepen their self-awareness of their own power and how they may use it constructively
    Explore areas where participants can use their power to increase organizational effectiveness
    Learn strategies to effectively execute behavioral change where the dynamics of power may be obstacles
