|Workshops for mentees and mentors are offered four times a year within the framework of the Junior Professionals Orientation and Development Programme.|
Mentees: Young professionals who have passed a competitive examination (YPP or G to P) are trained on the specifics of the Mentoring Programme during the Young Professional Orientation and Development Programme. After the training, they begin their one year mentoring relationship with the mentor they have been matched with.
Mentors: Staff members at the P4 level and above who have served in the Organization for more than one year may become mentors for junior professional staff. They receive specific training and become part of the community of mentors. The mentor is invited to start the one year mentoring relationship once OHRM identifies a mentee whose interests/ profiles complement the interests of the mentor
|The Mentoring Programme is one of the components of the career development plan for new young professional staff. It is designed to offer additional support to young professionals with career coaching and networking opportunities for a successful integration into the UN. For senior colleagues serving as mentors the Mentoring Programme represents an excellent opportunity to enhance their coaching and leadership skills, both of which are key managerial competencies in the Organization.|
