In light of supporting UNESCAP as a learning organisation, we strive towards creating a culture of sharing knowledge and experiences. HRMS colleagues are available to assist with the familiarization with the organisational culture and suggestions for establishing informal cross-divisional as well as cross-sectional networks within the organisation. We also encourage informal interaction with colelagues ESCAP-wide to help assist with getting accustomed to the new work environment as well as to the new life environment in Bangkok.
Currently, upon joining and arriving at ESCAP, all new staff members should report to the Staff Administration Unit of HRMS and undergo an approximately a one-day long check-in process, which comprises of a general orientation and meeting key colleagues. We also offer a one-day "Common Induction Programme", on quarterly basis or as needed, during which new staff can find out about the UN role and services provided by the UN family in Thailand. The remaining dates in 2012 for the Common Induction Programme are 29 June and 9 November 2012.
