International seminar: Social Health Insurance Development and Implementation in Asian CountriesOctober 16 to 25, 2000 in Nakhonpathom, ThailandDownload (MSWord format) Dear colleagues, We would like to inform you about our next regional seminar on "Social Health Insurance Development and Implementation in Asian Countries". This seminar will be organised in co-operation between the Health Systems Research institute (HSRI) in Thailand and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) / Sektorprojekt Krankenversicherung. We are very glad that during this seminar the Thai Health Insurance system will be evaluated as a regional example and that our colleagues from Thailand intend to link this seminar with the ongoing discussion in Thailand concerning the further development of the insurance system in Thailand. The seminar will also focus on the present situation, recent developments and future perspectives concerning the health financing and social health insurance systems of the different countries represented in the seminar. The information about this seminar has already been sent to former participants of our seminars concerning health financing and social health insurance development and will shortly arrive via the official channel, the German embassies. This seminar is organised in collaboration with the team of the project health insurance development in Bonn. We are convinced that this seminar will facilitate another time the important exchange of experience between the countries and projects represented in this seminar. Therefore we would like to address this announcement particularly to the teams of GTZ projects in this region. As we intend to work in country-specific working groups during the second part of the seminar on your national social health insurance issues participating countries should be represented by a small group preferably 4 to 5 participants. Therefore we would like to ask you to pass this information to other colleagues who might be interested to participate in this seminar. It would be fine to receive information about applications as early as possible by e-mail or fax-letter. Applications of GTZ team member should be sent via GTZ, other applications have to be sent through the German embassy until July 31. We are looking forward to your comments and suggestions.
