The first Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) Business Sector Meeting will be held on 25 July 2011
at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand with its aim to establish a platform
for networking and to foster partnerships among the business sector of the APTA Participating States —
Bangladesh, China, India, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka, Republic of Korea.
The APTA Business Sector Meeting will be participated by government officials and business representatives
from APTA Participating States and some prospective APTA member countries including Mongolia and Nepal.
While the meeting will provide an opportunity for the private sector of the APTA member States to enhance
communications and collaboration with the government focal points of both APTA Participating States and
APTA Secretariat of ESCAP, it will also increase utilization of the APTA to achieve maximum potential
benefit from promotion and expansion of intra-regional trade in the near future.
