Documenting good practises in public-private partnerships for infrastructure development

We are inviting individuals and institutions to document innovative cases of public-private partnerships that bring basic services to the poor and has developed a set of guidelines for this purpose.

The core focus is on documenting practices where for-profit private-sector enterprises have entered into a formal, legally binding partnership with the public sector. Only practices that have already been operationalized should be documented. We are looking for models that could be applied in a number of different situations. A practice that can only work at a particular place or time will not usually be worth documenting. Similarly, there is little point in documenting practices that are already in widespread use, unless some important new insight or information is revealed.

Documentation must identify and clarify the core principles and components of a practice, the essential processes involved and the key lessons learned. It needs to record not only the success story, but also the problems encountered and the failures experienced in implementing the practice. These Guidelines attempt to cover all those important aspects of documentation.

Individuals or institutions interested in documenting an innovative practice that bring basic services to the poor through a PPP are invited to fill-in a Type A form and forward it to us (contact us). The brochure provides more details on case study identification and documentation. For your feedback, please refer to contact us.
