D. Conforming to international standards
[ D | D-1 | D-2 ]
Malaysian standards are gazetted documents covering a variety of areas such as: product specification; methods of testing and sampling; glossary of terms or nomenclature; grading or classification of a product; and codes of practice. There are two types of standards in Malaysia: voluntary and mandatory standards. Voluntary standards are standards which manufacturers are encouraged to meet, as such standards establish the minimum requirements for product safety and quality and act as a marketing tool. Punitive action is not taken in cases of non-compliance with those standards.
