C. Impact of environmental measures on Malaysian exports

In this section, the impact of environmental measures on trade are analysed from two different perspectives: (a) the impact of international environmental requirements on trade in the case of Malaysian timber; and (b) the impact of domestic environmental control on the Malaysian palm oil industry. The two cases are based on studies by Khalid (1993; and 1989, 1991 and 1994, respectively).
