5. Approval of pesticides advertisements

All pesticide advertising must have prior approval of the Pesticides Board before it can be published in the electronic media (radio, television, films, video etc.) or other forms of mass media (such as newspapers, magazines, periodicals, posters, leaflets, handouts, billboards etc.). Applications for approval must be submitted to the Secretary of the Pesticides Board of the Department of Agriculture. The main terms and conditions for such applications are that:

  • Only pesticides registered with the Pesticides Board may be advertised;
  • Applicants must submit two sets of application forms together with 12 copies of the proposed advertising, and accompanied by a covering letter;
  • Advertisements in languages other than the national language or English language should be accompanied by an accurate translation, either in the national language or in English;
  • The fee for every application will be M$ 100, payable at the time of submission of the application.
