4. Approval of aerial spraying

Prior approval of the Pesticides Board must be obtained before aerial application of pesticides may be carried out. This control is carried out jointly by the Department of Civil Aviation and the Pesticides Board. Applications for approval should be submitted to the Secretary of the Pesticides Board of the Department of Agriculture. The main terms and conditions are that the following items must be provided with the application:

  • A copy of the Aerial Application Certificate issued by the Department of Civil Aviation;
  • A copy of the pilot’s licence;
  • Justification for the proposed application;
  • Date on the type and quantity of pesticides proposed to be used.

A fee is not charged for this type of application.
