1. Issuance of pesticide import permits
All unregistered pesticides for the purpose of research and education may be imported with a permit issued by the Pesticides Board. Applications for approval must be submitted to the Secretary of the Pesticides Board in the Department of Agriculture. The main terms and conditions governing such applications are that:
- Only local research institutions, agencies, departments and companies may apply for an import permit to import pesticides;
- An applicant must use the designated application form;
- An applicant must provide the data required in the form and an authorized letter from the owner of the premises where the research is proposed to be carried out, if the research to be carried is out outside the applicant’s own research premises;
- An applicant must follow the guidelines and conditions stipulated by the Pesticides Board;
- An application fee of M$ 10 will be charged per permit.
