[ F | F-1 | F-2 ]

A number of options are available to governments wanting to translate urban environmental policies into action. Fiji needs to implement an effective system of integrating environment concerns, using a combination of revised institutional and legal instruments, at both the national and local government levels. The implementation of the Sustainable Development Act is a critical starting point in that process. However, a comprehensive system of economic incentives and disincentives, together educational and public awareness programmes, are needed.
