6. Soil pollution
Soil pollution has reached serious levels. For example, in irrigated zones including Zhangshi, Heping, Gongnengbing and Hunbei of Shenyang City, Shenfu of Fushun, Shongshantai of Anshan and Liuhaohe of Liaoyang, industrial wastewater has been used to irrigate farmland. As a result, the soil has become polluted.
Harmful materials have accumulated in the soil and subsequently in crops, creating a serious health hazard.
