5. Accurate databases

A sound basis is required for the effective integration of environmental considerations into policy decisions. That requirement calls for the establishment of resource databases and an environmental information network, as part of the institutional arrangements within and among government agencies, that will serve the requirements of planning, policy formulation and programming.
